HR HOA Board Updates

Long Range Vision & Strategic Plan

 

The draft of the Heritage Ranch HOA Long Range Vision and Strategic Plan has been completed by the Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC) and has been adopted as a working document by the Board of Directors.  This Vision and Strategic Plan was developed at the request of the Board and is based on input from all of the standing committees.  Meetings have been scheduled for Wednesday, August 18th from 6 to 8 PM and for Saturday, August 21st from 9 to 11 AM.  The LRPC will present the details of the plan and answer questions from the community.

 

 

Road Work on Stacy Road East of Heritage Ranch

 

Ditch and drainage work will start along Stacy Road east of Heritage Ranch the week of July 19th.  This work will be along Stacy Road north of Thompson Springs and will involve adding drainage pipes and reducing the depth of the ditches next to the road.  Drivers on Stacy Road should use extra care through this construction area and homeowners who back up to Stacy should expect some noise and dust during the construction period.

 

 

New Chairperson for Food & Beverage Committee

 

The Board has appointed Lynn Potter-Goldstein as the new Chair of the Food and Beverage Committee.  The Board and HOA Staff look forward to Lynn’s productive and successful term on the committee.

 

 

Replace Carpet in Grill

 

Due to wear and tear, the carpet in the Grill is being replaced on August 9th and 10th.  Please be patient as this improvement is being made to the Grill.

 

 

Remove TV from the Grill

 

With the availability of a TV in the Outpost, the Food & Beverage Committee requested that the TV in the Grill be removed.  At the HOA Board Meeting on July 15th, the Board approved this request.  This will allow for a quieter dining experience in the Grill and still allow those who want to watch TV during a meal to have that available in the Outpost.  The TV will be removed on August 9th when the carpet is replaced.

 

 

Disc Golf Course Decision

 

A request was received by the HOA Board of Directors to allow the use of HR Common Area for a disc golf course.  On June 24th, a meeting was held at the Clubhouse where residents both for and against the disc golf course could voice their opinions.  The Board of Directors has reviewed all of the information presented, and at the July 15th Board Meeting voted unanimously that “No placement of a disc golf course for organized or unorganized play is permitted on any HOA Common Area unless expressly permitted by the HOA Board." 

 

 

Water & Ice Machine in Cabana

 

The Pool Cabana has been under-utilized for quite some time.  To meet the requests from homeowners for clean and safe water and ice, the Board has approved the installation of a water and ice machine in the Cabana.  This machine will allow all residents to obtain water and ice at a convenient point near the Clubhouse.

 

 

Water Leak on Golf Hole #11

 

For several weeks the Golf Maintenance crew and the Town of Fairview have been diagnosing a water leak on the fairway of golf hole #11.  Both the golf course sprinkler system and the Town of Fairview water system were under evaluation.   It was determined that the leak is coming from a water pipe at the south end of Cabellero Ct.  The Town of Fairview Water Department has been working on repairs the week of July 12th.

 

 

Status of Watson Lawsuit

 

The status of the lawsuit as of the end of April is included in the Town Hall Presentation (with speaker notes) that is available on the HOA Web site under “Documents”.  The last events in that status were the dismissing of the case by the Collin County District Court on March 12th and Mr. Watson’s filing of an Appeal on March 23rd.   On June 11th, the attorney representing the HOA filed the Appellee’s Brief with the Fifth District Court of Appeals.  We now must wait for the Appeals Court to act.  We still expect the appeal process to take from 12 to 18 months.

 

 

2011 Board Election Nominating Committee

 

The 2011 Board Election Nominating Committee was approved at the July 15th HOA Board Meeting.  The committee members are Nancy Krocza, Sue Reeves, Ron Seifert, Tom Lewis, and Clayton Barnes Chairman.  If you are interested in running for the Board of Directors, please contacts a member of this committee.
